Within the context of the program ‘A day at the Acropolis Museum’, the Museum continues its program of music afternoons, in collaboration with the City of Athens Technopolis and presents a series of ‘Musical Meetings with Manos Hadjidakis’ on 2, 9, 16 and 23 February 2012, at 5 p.m., on the balcony of the second floor overlooking the Archaic Gallery.

Thursday 2 February, ‘Manos Hadjidakis meets pre-classical composers’ (J. Pachelbel, A. Vivaldi, J. S. Bach). Performance: Echo String Quartet. 

Thursday 9 February, ‘Manos Hadjidakis meets classisal and post-classical composers’ (J. Haydn, W. A. Mozart, J. Brahms). Performance: Athens String Quartet.

Thursday 16 February, ‘Manos Hadjidakis meets Astor Piazzolla’. Performance: Trio Tangarto. 

Thursday 23 February, ‘Manos Hadjidakis meets the sounds of Smyrna’. Performance: Christos Tsiamoulis and Sokratis Sinopoulos.  

Moreover, the Municipality of Athens will contribute with Greek music performances by the Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday 18 February 2012, at 5 p.m., and with operettas and serenades by the Athens Mixed Municipal Choir on Saturday 25 February 2012, at 5 p.m., in the Museum’s entrance courtyard.
